Webster County Business Park

The Webster County Business Park in Cowen, West Virginia is host to the 17,200 sq. ft. Robert C. Byrd Information Technology Center. The state-of-the-art, energy-efficient facility embraces a "hi-tech" image through the architect's expressions of form and materials. Completed in 2003, the primary purpose of the facility was as a document scanning and conversion and data center; therefore, it is equipped with broadband services and fiber is available to the building. The facility is additionally equipped with a diesel generator, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system, security system, fire suppression system, and geothermal groundsource heat pumps. The facility is handicap accessible and the parking lot hosts over 100 parking spaces.

On April 14, 2007 the Robert C. Byrd Information Technology Center received a merit award for achievement in architecture from American Institute of Architects (A.I.A.) West Virginia.
